Eagle for Side FX Houdini

Here is the signature Houdini 20 eagle. In this download are 2 main files. The first is the creation of base feathers, and placement of them. This is in the eagle_feathercreation.hip, and then the eagle_render.hip is where the various caches of feather patches are assembled and brought into LOPs for rendering in Karma XPU or CPU. There are also cameras and lights included, which were used for the creation of renders for the Houdini 20 release marketing materials. Feel free to experiment and create your own.

Toucan for Side FX Houdini

This project file contains the toucan groom. It includes how to set up feather templates, the creation of the toucan model, and the feather groom. You can follow along via my Houdini 20.5 HIVE talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Sw1VNxVn1g and experiment with creating your own plumage. The file also contains a stage setup with lights and a camera.

Hair Swatches for Side FX Houdini

A selection of hair presets created by Andriy Bilichenko. Hair styles include straight, wavey, afro, curls and clumped. View full hair guides network to see how the hair was created, as well as their LOP nodes with material assignment that outputs to Karma render from STAGE context.

Fabric Samples for Side FX Houdini

Here is a collection of eight different fabrics with unique physical behaviour and shaders per fabric (silk, velvet, wool, leather, jersey, raincoat, tulle with embroidery and jeans). In the ROPnet, you can hit Render to generate all the necessary textures.
